Truth: Not For Hire
TRUTH DOES NOT WORK FOR US, WE SURRENDER TO HIM How to Identify if Truth is in Command in Your Life Regardless of Your Surrounding Circumstances.
Who is Truth? The Holy Spirit is Truth. Truth is at work testifying to God concerning the works of our hands, searching deep into the hearts of men and women, and is in the midst of making everything to work together for good for those who are in Christ Jesus. Truth stands alone. Sometimes Truth carries us up on top of mountains. Other times we suffer, or are humbled by or for Truth. Regardless, we can know that whatever the case, our true reward is not here, but in heaven. That being said, how can we identify if Truth is in command in our lives regardless of the surrounding circumstances? If our life is good, dose that mean Truth is on our side? Or, if life is difficult, does that mean we lack Truth?
I've heard so many with the understanding that Truth is based on a reward system, something like this:
"My life wasn't working for me before, but now I found the truth."
This thinking is then connected to the logic of:
"if it's working for you then it must be true."
But the voice of Truth says this,
"Truth does not work for us, but we in fact surrender to Him."
We must be humble enough to receive a blessing, and strong enough to suffer rejection—if God's Truth is not welcome. You may wonder how Truth could be in charge if you or others do not see any apparent progress in your life.
Here are two reminders:
1. we walk by faith not by sight— Perception is deceiving, but God's word stands on solid ground.
2. progress can simultaneously build up and bring low— God's word stands alone.
How is that possible? One example that answers this question is how God defines LOVE. We can look to the example of what both God and Jesus did to show their love for us and ultimately save all in the world who accept Them. We know that ultimately without love, life is meaningless. Love is why God saved us and lifted us up. Love is also why Jesus allowed Himself to be made low by dying for us on a cross.(John 3:16) We can see from these examples of love, Truth tells us that we can both lead by lifting up our wings and flying over mountains and we can also lead by laying down our life for a friend. These two different positions of LOVE are not contradictory. Jesus said, No one has the power to take His life from Him, but He has the power to take up his own life, or lay it down, and this power is from God.(John 10:18) That same power that now lives inside of you is the same power that rose Christ from the grave. This is the power Jesus had when he conquered death and the grave. (Romans 8:11) This is the key to everlasting life—everlasting life is a real relationship with God. Truth is everlasting and you are too! When you receive Jesus, He sends the Holy Spirit who only speaks the truth. He will counsel you and make your path straight. He will keep you in all of your ways. Though He laid His life down, Jesus gained everlasting life and the position of King of Kings and Lord of Lords. It is Jesus who rules with God in heaven and over all the earth.
If you find yourself either on top of world, or struggling day to day, remember, Truth is here all around us and is at work making everything to work together for good for those who are in Christ Jesus. Trust in Him, no matter your circumstances, and He will make your path straight. This is The Way to truly help people. That is what Jesus did for me and He will do the same for you.
If you put your trust in Jesus, He is The Way, The Truth and The Life.
